German tuner G-Power has optimized the engine electronics in the
BMW M3/M4, resulting in an increase to 512 hp
and 516 lb-ft of torque.
If the electronic limiter is removed at the same time, it would allow the sports car to reach a maximum speed of 202 mph (325 km/h). 0-60 acceleration time decreases from 4.1 to 3.9 seconds, which is comparable to some of the much more expensive sports cars from Italy and Germany.
The German tuner made sure that their engine control unit maintains all engine protection and diagnostics functions. For example, power increase is activated only once the prescribed cooling water temperature is reached, and temporarily deactivated when a maximum permitted oil temperature (e.g. when driving under permanent full load in high summer) occurs.
To enhance the visual appeal, G-Power offers a set of ultra-lightweight 20-inch Hurricane RR forged wheels made out of high-tech aeroplane aluminum, equipped with tires in size 245/30 ZR20 and 285/25 ZR20.
The Germans can also enhance the driving behavior by installing a height- und pressure-adjustable coilover suspension.
