German BMW specialist G-Power has unveiled a new 730-horsepower engine
upgrade for the M5 sedan.
With this much power and a peak torque of 720 lb-ft (975 Nm), the 2015 BMW M5 by G-Power on the same performance level as the first V10 supercharged M5/M6 Hurricane versions from the same tuner.
Given that the current generation M5 is already fitted with a turbocharger, the path to this much power was not as challenging as with the previous generation V10 engines. To reach 730 hp (740 PS), G-Power optimized the engine electronic management software and installed a lightweight exhaust system made from titanium. Optionally, the tuner can also raise the theoretical speed limit to 217 mph (350 km/h).
Thanks to these modifications, the M5 can speed to 124 mph (200 km/h) in just 10.5 seconds and can reach a top speed of well over 186 mph (300 km/h).
The powerful appearance of the BMW M5 by G-Power can be supported by a set of 21-inch Hurricane RR forged wheels with tires in sizes 255/30 ZR21 and 295/25 ZR21.
The price of the performance upgrade, which includes the exhaust system and racing catalysts is 13,800 euros ($15,000). A set of 21-inch wheels starts at 9,100 euros ($9,800).
