According to Hennessey, the HPE700 will accelerate to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds and will cover a quarter mile in 11.2 seconds at 131 mph.

American tuner Hennessey has unveiled a 717-horsepower upgrade for the all-new Mustang GT, along with a comprehensive exterior package.

Outside, the 2015 Mustang GT receives a carbon fiber bodywork that includes new bumpers, side skirts, rear diffuser and a small boot lid spoiler. New 20-inch wheels round out the exterior upgrades.

While the standard 5.0-liter V8 engine generates 435 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque, Hennessey's version outputs mighty 717 hp and 632 lb-ft of torque thanks to a Roots-style supercharger running 7.25psi of boost. The HPE 700 package also includes a new stainless steel exhaust, uprated fuel injectors and pumps and an ECU flash.

According to Hennessey, the HPE700 will accelerate to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds and will cover a quarter mile in 11.2 seconds at 131 mph. He says that's 5 mph faster than the Challenger SRT Hellcat will achieve on a 1/4 mile and thinks the HPE700 could be faster than the Corvette Z06, too.

Production will be limited to 500 examples with prices starting at $59,500, which is very near the price of the 707-horsepower Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.
