Unveiled at SEMA yesterday, the latest Mustang RTR model is geared towards
those who want a more aggressive-looking and powerful Mustang. It was created by Vaughn Gittin Jr.
The car comes with two optional packages, Spec 1 and Spec 2, each of which is
available with the 2.3-liter Ecoboost, V6 and 5.0-liter V8 drivetrains.
The Spec 1 package brings cosmetic changes like a chin spoiler, upper grille
with built-in lighting, rear diffuser with side splitters, rear spoiler, rocker
splitters and lower grille.
The Spec 2 package offers everything from the first package, plus performance
upgrades - the most powerful upgrade boosts the GT's 5.0-liter V8 to as much as
725 hp (540 kW) via supercharging. Adjustable dampers and sway bars, lowering
springs, cold air intake system and a Magnaflow bespoke exhaust system are also
included with the package.
"Ford has really done an amazing job with the new
2015 Ford Mustang," said Vaughn Gittin, Jr. "The all new platform has very
easily allowed us to mesh RTR's tastefully-aggressive styling and modified
performance to offer our most capable, best-handling fun-to-drive RTRs to date."
The 2015 Ford Mustang RTR will be available through select Ford dealers
worldwide starting January 2015.
