Bugatti and Bentley CEO Wolfgang Duerheimer said that their typical customer
is spectaculary well-off and also an avid car collector.
"The clientele between Bentley and Bugatti is remarkably different. The Bentley
customer on average owns 8 cars. The average Bugatti customer has about 84 cars,
3 jets and one yacht," said Duerheimer.
In addition to trying to sell the remaining 20 Veyrons, Bugatti is currently
working on its successor. VW is reportedly testing at least three different
concepts which could feature an engine as much as 25 percent stronger than the
1,200-horsepower motor of the current model's most powerful version. One of the
concepts is a hybrid model comparable to the P1, 918 Spyder or the LaFerrari.
The Veyron successor could be unveiled at the end of 2015 or early 2016,
according to VW design chief Walter de Silva.
