This video answers the question which of these two track-focused sports cars is faster in a straight line.

The 650S used for this comparison was the Spider version which is 88 lb (40 kg) heavier than the Coupe, had the top down and a passenger, and was on regular Pirelli Pzero tires.

The McLaren 650S Spider produces 641 hp from a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 engine capable of a 0-60 time of 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 204 mph. The Ferrari 458 Speciale outputs 597 hp from a naturally aspirated 4.5-liter V8 engine and can sprint from 0 to 60 mph also in 2.9 seconds on its way to a top speed of 202 mph.

The 650S Spider is the heavier of the two with a dry weight of 3,020 lb (1,370 kg). The 458 Speciale tips the scale at 2,844 lb (1,290 kg).
