Close Match: Ferrari 458 Speciale vs. Porsche 911 GT3

Published: Tue Oct 14, 2014 by Marko P.  |  Categories: Ferrari, Porsche  |  Source: CAR

Both of these are the most stripped-out street legal track cars on offer from their respective manufacturers, not counting the uber-expensive LaFerrari and 918 Spyder.

For those with deep pockets who are deciding which one to buy (and for everyone else), CAR magazine made this insightful video, embedded above.

Sadly there is no hot lap comparison so we need to rely on the subjective opinion of the magazine's editor-at-large Ben Barry.

The 458 Speciale is powered by a 4.5-liter V8 with 597 hp and 398 lb-ft of torque, while the 3.8-liter flat-six in the 911 GT3 outputs 469 hp and 324 lb-ft of torque.
