Quarter Mile Shootout: McLaren P1 vs. Porsche 918 Spyder vs. Ferrari LaFerrari

The three hybrid supercars went head to head in a quarter mile race at the Santa Pod drag strip on Friday, October 16th. This is the first real-world 1/4 mile comparison between the "Holy Trinity".

As in the previous hot lap comparison, none of the hypercars have been prepped by a manufacturer. The only difference is that on this occasion, a non-Weissach 918 Spyder was used because Paul Bailey's white 918 with Weissach Package was damaged in a crash two weeks before this comparison.

All three cars were tested in identical conditions, all had been driven to the venue and the drag strip was 100% dry for all runs. A jet powered track dryer was used before the cars had their single practice runs. Afterwards they had the chance to go head to head and set a fastest time, which is shown at the end of the video.

After several runs, the all-wheel-drive Porsche 918 Spyder came out on top with a 10.65 second sprint at 142.46 mph. The rear-wheel-drive P1 came home second fastest with a 10.90 at 145.16 mph while the best the LaFerrari could achieve was an 11.21 at 142.47 mph.
